A home is overbuilt if it is renovated to accommodate three or four bedrooms and two bathrooms when the rest of the houses in your area only have two bedrooms and one bathroom. In the long run, this will cost home owners their investment. If you cannot help it, might as well sell your current home and re-invest your money in a larger home in a different neighbourhood.
